No Half Moon Cay for us.... Extra Sea Day!

This was supposed to be another stop to Half Moon Cay.... but we did not go because of ocean swells making the tender not very safe, so we had another sea day.... we did not really mind, just another day to rest and pack for the disembarkation tomorrow......  We have had a great two weeks on the ocean, and in some ways I hate to see it end.  On the other hand, I will be ready to get home and get ready for Christmas!

These are views of Half Moon Cay from the ship!

We pretty much just hung around the ship and by the pool taking in the ocean views for one last time!

So I will leave you with this is a view of Christmas trees and Gingerbread village on the ship getting everyone in the Christmas Spirit.

St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.

We are to be here from 8:00am-5:00pm.  We had breakfast in the room of omelets, etc.  Our tour today is a hike, snorkel, and kayak of Cays bay.  We took a shuttle to the bay so we got to see some of the island.  They drive on the left side of the road, so it was interesting riding around the island, going up and around the curvy roads.  However, the views were very pretty!  We also saw some of the recovery of the island from the hurricane last year.
Our tour was quite fun.  We started off kayaking the bay, learning about the mangroves.  We then got out of the kayaks and did the snorkel part of the tour.  We were lucky with the weather this morning.  It was warm and sunny!

Sailing towards St. Thomas. Beautiful views!!
 Our welcome committee!!

This was a damaged church we passed on the way to Cays bay.

The views are pretty.  St. Thomas is a mountain island.
This is a fruit stand we passed.

 Kayaking in Cays Bay...

Underwater view from our snorkel experience!

This is a big puffer fish.

 A small conk shell.
This octopus was quite shy.  It wouldn't come out and say hi.
This was a barracuda we saw.
All in all a great time!
After the snorkel time, we went on a hike and saw hermit crabs, a poison tree, and incredible views.  I sorry I didn't get any pictures because my camera ran out of battery and I didn't have my phone.
We did have a great time here.
We took the shuttle back to town and did a bit of shopping, of course!

Just after getting back on the ship, it started raining.  We had lunch in the Lido Market with views of boats and the island... Sweet!
We watched the sail away from our veranda which was nice.
We had dinner in the MDR then back to room to watch a movie.
Tomorrow, a sea day.
Lunch View and Sail Away!

San Juan, Puerto Rico

What a fun day we have planned here!  Andy, our nephew, lives here and plays in the Puerto Rico National Orchestra, so we are going to meet him here and he is going to show us the sights.  We have our own personal tour guide.

Just getting our first look at Puerto Rico...

A view of the city as we head to the port.

More city views.

We are going to have a beautiful day in Puerto Rico.

The sky is clear and weather is hot!

We had some wonderful pastries for a snack here

This is an old coffee roaster that was displayed in the bakery.
The sign outside the bakery.
Here we are with our "tour guide!"

I am standing in front of the bakery.

We continued walking through Old San Juan enjoying the old building and the Plazas where decorated for Christmas.

 The Three Kings displayed.
Building in Plaza was decorated for Christmas.
A look at a street of Old San Juan and walking in one of the Plazas.
The super market where we bought coffee.

After buying coffee, we went to one of the old forts on the island.
It was in a good location because you could see all around the island and ocean from the fort.
Views from the fort... below, people are flying kites.

 Who are those crazy people!!

After having a fun day here, we walked back into town and caught an Uber (yes they have them in Puerto Rico) to Condado to eat dinner.  Also we got to see a bit
more of the city.
We ate at a place called Ropa Vieja Grill.  We had a seafood bowl made from plantains.  It was different but pretty good.
Our Uber driver driving through Old San Juan.

Another fort we drove by.
Sign to Condado.

View of a beach across the street from the Restaurant.

After buying a couple of t-shirts, we said our good-byes and took a taxi back to the ship.
We enjoyed BBKings Lounge again then we watched the sail away from our room as we left Puerto Rico.  It was a late night for us, but we had a fun day and the night lights were pretty.

Tomorrow we go to St. Thomas, U. S. V. I.
So, until then.....

Flying To Fort Lauderdale

Ok, Fort Lauderdale, here we come! All packed and ready to go!!! We get to Fort Lauderdale and take a taxi to the ho...
